Visitor Service Volunteer  

Visitor services volunteers serve as 'ambassadors' of the world soil museum on days when the doors are open to the general public, offering assistance and recommendations to individual visitors and groups. Clear and friendly communication skills are a basic requirement. Volunteers must enjoy providing accurate directions to visitors from every background, and must acquire a thorough knowledge of the Museum. Visitor services are provided during the open door hours of the museum (Wednesdays from 13.30 h - 17-30 h) in rotation within the pool of visitor service volunteers, year-round.

Tour Guide  


 Lead tours for public and private audiences. Volunteers receive training and will participate in various guided tours before independent group guidance. A background in soil science or physical geography is required. Experience in education is an advantage. Service is provided in rotation within the pool of tour guides and depending on availability, year-round

Docent  


 Facilitate tours and interactive workshops for school groups. A background in soil science or physical geography is required. Experience in education is an advantage. Service is provided in rotation within the pool of tour docents and depending on availability,

Special events organizer  

Organize lectures in a lecture series that involves external speakers and which are hosted in the World Soil Museum on a quarterly basis. Assistance with the organizational part of thematic expositions.
